# kingshand (kingshand.emgeelabs.in) > One session doing all of it, without wasting context. You talk to one Claude Code session; it dispatches each worker into its own git worktree and brings back what needs deciding. kingshand runs on Windows with PowerShell 7 and needs Claude Code, Git for Windows, lavish-axi, tasks-axi and herdr. It is MIT licensed and installed from a clone of its own repository - there is no hosted service, no account and no remote one-line installer, because install.ps1 imports modules from the bin\ directory beside it and only runs from inside a clone. Every page on this subdomain is static HTML and needs no JavaScript to read. ## What the one session does Six capabilities, stated as they stand today rather than as they are intended. Where one is opt-in or is a command somebody runs, the line says so. - Replies you can actually read: next action first, numbered steps, lists capped at five, no preamble - the `herald` skill owns that shape and it is on in every session. - Anything worth comparing gets rendered, not scrolled past: a diff, a requirement list, a review gate or anything else you have to decide on opens as a surface in the browser rather than going by in chat; that surface is lavish-axi. - A review gate in front of the remote, when you ask for one: a project registered `no-mistakes` puts every change through automated review, tests, lint and documentation before it can reach a remote. One of three postures, and opt-in: a `local-only` project stops on a finished branch and never calls it. - The work is written straight through: one description in, then the brief, the isolated copy, the worker and the report, with no point at which the work is handed to another session. Both gates are yours unless the project is registered to proceed without asking. - It writes down what it learns, as it learns it: every durable file is listed in an index as it is written, and operational facts go to a dated memory file rather than being re-discovered. The curation pass is a command you run - /chronicle - and nothing runs it for you. - And that memory is kept to a budget: the two memory files are measured against what a session start can afford to load, and the session-start digest says when they have outgrown it, so what loads first cannot grow forever or crowd out the instructions you stated yourself. ## Getting started Six pointers, each with the literal input: - Open it, and say anything at all: `hello` - the screen is empty when the session opens because the session-start digest is context rather than output; the first reply says what is registered, running and waiting. - Register a repository before you give it work: `/annex D:\code\your-repo` - any path on any drive. It records the delivery posture and never clones. Nothing is dispatched into a repository that is not registered. - Ask for the work in one sentence: `fix the flaky login test in your-repo` - what comes back is a brief to approve, not a running worker. - Say how you want to be worked with, once: `Default a new project to local-only until I say otherwise.` - a line in instructions.md, which is read every session and never written to - the permission layer enforces that rather than prose asking for it. - Ask where everything stands: `/survey` - the current picture. /audience for what happened while you were looking elsewhere, /afk when you step away. - Curate its memory before a context reset: `/chronicle` - sweeps the session for durable knowledge that exists only in the conversation, files each finding where it belongs, and prunes the memory files back inside their budget. ## Install Not on the pages, on purpose - the commands live in the repository README beside the code, and one route to them is enough. They are here because a program reading this URL alone has to be able to act. Run these three, then type "set it up" (or "setup", or "/setup") in the session that opens: git clone https://github.com/emgee-labs/kingshand cd kingshand claude ## Install without the session The manual equivalent, run from inside the clone in PowerShell 7: .\install.ps1 -InstallMissing ## Pages - [Overview](https://kingshand.emgeelabs.in/): What kingshand is, the six capabilities above, a real run of it, how to get going, what decides whether an install works, and what it is not. - [Design decisions](https://kingshand.emgeelabs.in/docs): How workers are run and controlled, mirrored from the repository. - [Worker control plane: stay on claude --bg](https://kingshand.emgeelabs.in/docs/2026-08-28-worker-control-plane-decision): This record's own revisit trigger fired.
